The Key From Glennast Moor by porkshanks The Key From Glennast Moor by porkshanks
I had been called to alternate reality (CR 299.3 001 75x) to aid my friend. She had been just beginning her explorations with her freshly modified Aethergate 25pro and she was lost!

The moors of Glennast are a beautiful place. The light that gathers there stretches from one horizon to the other, but the orbit and rotation of this particular Earth is such that Glennast is in a nearly constant state of dusk and sunrise. The clouds will move turbulently but there is seldom a hard rain.

It is such a peaceful place to walk and commune along the banks of the river... but the labyrinth of wooden pathways that the denizens of the nearby village of Pommonscoot have built there can be confusing. During the brighter moments , the paths are easy enough to follow but when the darkness falls, even briefly... many a visitor has bemoaned the lack of artificial lighting as they completely lose their way through the thick moor foliage.

This had happened to my friend, and I decided to help, even though I barely know the moors myself. I sometimes do stupid things for friends because there is nothing else I can do for them but try.

As we ran through the darkness holding hands and failing to avoid branches to the face, I saw a glint in the corner of the my eye. Something metal was on the ground near the side of the pathway!

I bent down and brought the key to my palm just as the sunrise began burning its way across the sky for the ninth time that day since I had arrived.

No one in Pommonscoot had ever seen a key like it, and I still wonder what it opens to this day...

This is so beautiful. I can't astop myself from faving too much things in your gallery, but I love your work. It is so well done, original... You really have a great style. I always loved the steampunk style but you really give a personal touch to it. Do you sell your jewwellery? I'm probably too broke to buy anything, but maybe in the future...

Beautiful! I'm trying to decide if the bottom piece is made out of little parts that you've soldered together, or if it is a complete piece.

XD Will do, as soon as I get the silly thing working! It burned out a bit ago while I was trying to get to 1888 to witness the Krakatoa eruption. I only ended up eighteen minutes before my current position ): Needs new gears, I think, but the guy I used to get them from stopped selling them and I have no clue where to find more.

Which reminds me, I need to get my pocket watch cleaned, it has fuzz in it o.O

It looks like something out of Lovecraft. I like it quite a lot, though it isn't entirely nice, as such.

Hm...
Care to try and back this state... Forget it.
I'm kinda too happy lately to prove my life sucks. :)
But... I'm certain it's awesome being you - you create all those wonderful and wondrous and amazing and... [insert a few more superlatives here]... pieces of art!

hahahahahahaha...

indeed, I make nice art and try to infuse it with a bit of my soul (whatever the hell that is)... so clearly, all of my desires are granted XD

oh wait... it's the *opposite*!

plus!

due to circumstances beyond my reckoning, I am being driven insane slowly enough that I realize its happening, but thoroughly enough that its probably too late to do anything to stop it now.

IF this insanity does not prevent you from enjoying life and IF it does not hinder your creativity, and IF it does not bring harm unto others - it shouldn't really be a problem.

Porkshanks you make some of the most beautiful and fascinating and intricate things I have ever seen and the stories to write to go with them pull me in and enthral my very soul!

You got some serious talent!

You're welcome. I mean it though. I could wander in the worlds of the stories of your descriptions like hiking through the forests and lakes around the Whiteshell region of my home province. I'd be happy never to find the lights of the city again.

This is one of your most beautiful works yet, in my opinion, and I feel it is do to the texture of the piece. I spy with my mechanical eye what appears to be a lion on the end of this? All of the things you incorporate are fantastic.
