This is a commission for Benjamin Ensor of the band Mungus:

Its been such a pleasure working him on this project. He asked me to create a Jules Verne inspired clockwork Lovecraftian beast... and other than that for a theme, he gave me permission to do whatever I wanted... so here it is, 16 inch tentacles and all! XD

not sure what else to say... oh yeah, before anyone freaks out about it, the tentacles don't interfere with the strings, I just posed them there for these pictures. The metal work also isn't as heavy as it looks.

The Elder Bass Guitar by *porkshanks. The suggester wrote, "We have seen many mods or global guitar or bass guitar modification, but this really is a masterpiece. The materials used, all the fine details, and the overall shape are just perfect. I'd give much to be able to play on such a unique bass guitar!" One word would be Phenomenal
but phenomenal doesn't tell you that I've spent quiet along time pouring over the fine detail and artisan craft in this work of art. With such a small yet defining "description" to work with, your depth of imagination has created a timeless piece with this bass. You may be glad to hear that before I even read your image description, Jules Verne was already on my mind.
I'm well aware that precise measurements and placement of the instruments working pieces are required for this to be able to actually play music and I'm quiet awed that you've been able to include so much art on this without taking away it's functionality. When I imagine how the bass player responded to this, it gives me chills. Honestly.
Lastly, I also feel you've done an amazing job with the photography/setup of the photos. Hope to see more soon!

If I have seen many guitar and bass guitar modification, rarely was I struck by such a fine design and execution.
I am amazed by all the wonderful details you put on this, the perfect use of tones and shapes, giving the bass not only a steampunk/lovercraft feel, but overall a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
If the perfect execution was not enough, the whole concept (ha, the tentacles!) shows a great artistic vision, and I am sure when the bass player will use this on stage, everyone will be mesmerized by his instrument!
I would be glad and proud to play on such instrument :)
