This is a project I've been wanting to make for a while now and just didn't have much time until I decided to make some for them. They are completely hand sewn and took about 5 or 6 days to make. It was a day of designing them and refining the idea and then about 2 days of sewing for each Spurat.
I should explain the etymology. This is a faux leather spat combined with a pair of hand made antique spurs I got a couple weeks ago. I just added 'battle' because they are huge and pointy and adding battle to anything makes it sound both cooler and more stupid.
The design I used is visually similar to spats, but functionally sort of its own thing. I chose a lace up back because I think it looks really interesting and keeps these giant things from completely covering the boots. What's the point of a layer if you can't see it, right?
Alrighty, I have some catching up to do on jewelry for people and another crazy hat and a pair of tiny goggles to make for various customers... so I will bid you all a finest of days!
All of your work is amazingly brilliant. It looks like it walked off of a film set, and indeed it should. As I'm sure you've heard one million times, I wish I had the money, too, to commission a piece. But thank you for sharing it with us nonetheless. Just seeing it is a real treat for the senses n___n
