Young Eliza Dumont of the Royal Lighter Than Air fleet in Muldrania had often spent her nights unwinding after a long day of battling the Skypirates of the tea trade route over the capital city by repairing watches for the guys on board. She soon discovered that she was growing a steady pile of cast away parts. The corners of her room were looking like a junk heap, and always a tidy gal... she wanted to be rid of it!
So she began to gather up parts one night to toss them over board when she looked down and noticed the parts had come together in a most peculiar way. They looked rather beautiful in her cupped hands, and in that moment she took it upon herself to keep those parts with her!
She strung them together with wire and hung them from her neck. After many nights of wearing the pendant, one of her ship mates pointed out to her that the pendant seemed to carry a symbology with it:
The center piece can be seen to represent Sol.
The golden crescent might be Luna.
The small gear to the left could be seen as the Polaris, the north star that many navigate with.
The pin points in the backing piece could be the starry night sky we all gaze up in wonder at.
and the finally, the dangling bit at the bottom perhaps resembles a human being observing all of it from the ground, which implies a symbolic Earth.
Eliza ran out to the deck of the airship and began crying in shock... could this be a coincidence? Was 'he' back again from the grave for a fourth time, trying to meddle in her fate?
Eliza threw the pendant over the bow. It would return to her seven times before she died, but she never discovered the true source of its power.
